The Ranges
Penrhiwpal Shooting Club has 5 ranges as follows.
25 Metres
The 25 metre range is outdoors with 5 covered firing points. The applicable limits are 655 m/s (2148 fps) and 2030J. Shooting while prone, kneeling, sitting or standing are permitted. The 25m range is also used for Turning Targets.
50 Metres
The 50 metre range is outdoors with 5 covered firing points. The applicable limits are 655 m/s (2148 fps) and 2030J. Shooting while prone, kneeling, sitting or standing are permitted. The 50m range is also used for Running Boar.
100 Yards
The 100 yard range is outdoors with 5 covered firing points. The applicable limits are 1000 m/s (3280 fps) and 7000J. Shooting while prone, kneeling, sitting or standing with support are permitted. The 100 yard range is also used for clay shoots.
Practical Shotgun
The practical shotgun range is outdoors, currently without any cover. It has been approved for birdshot only, #5 - #9. The steel plate targets may be used with lead loads only due to the safety issues created by steel shot on a steel target.
10m Indoor Range
The 10m indoor range may be used for air pistols and rifles with a maximum muzzle energy of 6 ftlb.
